    Do you want to discover Tuscany? Near the house, but also in the region, there are many things to do, to discover and to experience. Laterina and Loro Ciuffenna for example are nice villages nearby for a lunch. If you prefer some more extensive shopping and or sight seeing, the cities below are definitely worth while: Arezzo is at 22 kms, Radda in Chianti at 35 kms, Siena at 45 kms and Florence at 55 kms distance from the house.

    More of a sporty type? You can also take a ride on a bike or a mountain bike. If you’d like some more tips, for instance about nice places to eat, we are always prepared to do so. In the rooms you can also find many tips in a folder with extensive information. Here are some tips to get into a bit of a holiday mood already.

    Arezzo – Piazza Grande and antiques market
    The famous Piazza Grande, know from the movie La vita è bella, is the main attraction of Arezzo. Under the arches on the Piazza you’ll find several terraces where the best bites are served during the aperitivo hour. Every first weekend of the month you can visit the famous antiques market in Arezzo, in the historical city centre. On the Corso Italia there are many very attractive shops.

    Chianti – wine tasting and good food
    Take your bike or your car for a tour in the Chianti wine region. This region offers beautiful panoramic views over the hills covered by wine yards and villages such as Gaiole in Chianti, Radda in Chianti and Greve in Chianti. Besides nice small shops there are many restaurants and terraces where you can enjoy a good glass of Chianti.

    Siena – Piazza del Campo and the Palio
    Siena and its beautiful historical city center are definitely worth a visit. On 2nd July and 16th Augustus the Palio is held on the Piazza del Campo, an exciting horse race with jockeys from the various districts of the city. A spectacle not to be missed and you’ll also find it fascinating to watch the preparations.

    Florence – enjoying art, shopping and good food
    Florence, Tuscany’s capital, is also easily accessible by train. According to Lonely Planet the town is “Best in Travel”, with which we can only agree. The town, with the river Arno and the special Ponte Vecchio, the largest cupola of the Duomo and Michelangelo’s David... You can visit several museums and expositions, do some extensive shopping, go to the Mercato Centrale or the Mercato di Sant’Ambriogio, relax in the rose garden, enjoy the view from the Piazzale Michelangelo or just sit on a terrace and enjoy the Italian life.

    Would you rather like to relax in one of the wellness centres in Tuscany? That is possible nearby in Rapolano Terme or in some natural spas such as San Filippo Terme and Saturnia Terme.
